I have never traded. i just keep hold of the employer stocks added to my account. I would like to diversify my portfolio with some low-price stocks to get a feel of waters. Looking to buy some Pinterest and Twitter stocks. i like both of these applications and see a potential growth in the long term. Am i in the right direction? what are other low risk and low priced stocks would you suggest?
Pinterest and Twitter are NOT low priced stocks. The definition of low priced or value stocks is that they are priced lower than what their financial performance and outlook justify and hence have growth potential. In this market, there are not many such stocks out there. You think they have good potential which is your hypothesis. And it could turn out to be true you make money or completely go south. Be willing to take potentially large losses on these stocks if things go south
Just buy index funds, don’t buy individual stocks.
Price is based on pe not actual share price
The majority of conservative investors start with this strategy: https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Three-fund_portfolio The reason for this is because picking individual stocks is risky
There’s no such thing as a low risk stock unless you pick a Dow company stock that has been around forever. Every stock has risk.
