Hi all, I have an offer from a UNICORN startup and I am new to startup world. I am struggling with terms of equity if I were to leave before IPO.
How often do startups buy back or allow selling in secondary markets? Or do people typically just lose all unexercised options?
The strike price for my equity is pretty high and therefore I cannot afford to purchase all options if I did decide to leave.
Typically, what happens to equity if you leave startup before IPO and don’t exercise the options?
