Anyone here have experience with startup visa for canada? it seems to be a good option for someone with a good idea and entrepreneur skills. For those stuck in immigration backlog in the US, this seems to be a faster way to Canadian immigration while experimenting with your ideas, seeking validation and investment. After spending more than a decade in the backlog, I am finally moving on and exploring my options. Anyone tried that route yet? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/start-visa/eligibility.html #h1 #perm #rfe #s386
Canada is already flooded with Indians, 4% of Canada population and in US it’s 1.3%, so next time plz check facts However I don’t buy desperation to be out of India but at the same time I don’t mind someone making that choice, freedom
As a Canadian, I do value diversity and I also recognize that the diversity of our population was, in part, built up from past waves of immigration. If we had per country caps, there would be a lot less Ukrainians, Lebanese, Hong Kongers, and Sri Lankans in Canada, just to name a few. Why would I, as a Canadian who values diversity, want that?
I hope Canada introduces a cap
Eww... sloppy seconds. Canada no likey.
@OP - Did you explore this further? I'm also looking to know more about experience and success of startups who went through this visa.
Currently most options are paused due to COVID. My suggestion is to Keep working on your idea offline and wait for operations to resume. I too explored this option. If you have a solid idea and plan of execution, all you need is a buyout. CIC has a pretty good web site detailing all of this. You don’t even need a lawyer.
DM if you need further information.

Why startup visa. Just apply express entry and get a PR there
After 30s you loose points for age. Getting job with a Canadian employer is another option but then that’s not what I want to do eventually.
You do lose but as long as you are under 35 u can make enough points. Job offer is not a requirement
