Startup vs Netflix

I’m currently a Sr Eng Manager at a start up in the valley. Working 100% remote. I’ve become really intrigued by Netflix based on networking with current employees, culture deck, and benefits. I like my company, but looking to relocate to the valley and current salary is sucky for valley + there are also some annoying growing pains at my company that have made me entertain the idea of leaving. Current Salary is 185k YOE: 8yrs IC, 3 years EM Can some give me insight on their exp working as EM at Netflix? Can you WFH a few days a week? Whats salary for EM? Whats relocation package like at Netflix?

You can WFH as many days as you like. Also, you can be on paid vacation as many weeks as you want.

Compensation is “top of personal market” which means that is difficult to know how much you could earn as it will depend on the team and your expertise on that area. I wouldn’t expect a manager in UI to make the same as someone in Data engineering for example, just because they are managers. People work from home some times. I know people that reserve a day of the week for no meetings and work from home. But as manager, I don’t know how many days you can work from home to be honest. At the end they will tell you “freedom and responsibility”. Managers have to interact with other teams and people above them to get context and share with the team. If you fail to do this from home, then you most likely won’t have a great time at Netflix I’d expect a manager to make more than 350k though. ICs some times make more as it isn’t the same career path. Relocation is great, They cover a lot of expenses... HR can will definitely give you more details on that
