Hello Blinders,
I have been in Google for 3+ years at L5 TPM, I feel I was a severely lowballed (with PhD+10 year experience). Honestly I love the company, some of the smartest people to work with and great products but I am questioning my career growth here, and I am not ready to rest and vest yet. Specifically I am not that happy with the nature of TPM job ( it is very thankless and I am done with connecting others slack and building monthly reports). Here are few options I have:
- Move to L5 PM role in Google: I love what PM does here, and I feel like the career path is better for PM even outside. I have also spoke to few PM leads for rotation and it looks like a possible path.
- I am getting call back from my previous company ( Intel) all the time to come back ( And most likely I can negotiate a +1 grade so grade 10- As PE or Eng Manager)
- Stay as TPM and get a promotion and then decide: I have good rating this cycle and manager is say keep doing what I do and can be promoted in a year or so.
I am seriously considering exploring the Intel path as I heard the pay is better now.
What you guys think?
