My goal is to get to EU-based FAANG office and then move to US. I currently live in EU and during the last 1.5 years I try to accomplish this. My manager told me that I can move to California (US) via L1 (non-immigrant visa type) and after a year from arrival they can start GC process.. so it will take ~3.5 years in total. But the problem is that paychecks/health insurance won't be nice especially if we include cost of rent. Will it make sence to live in the US, have 8-10 hours difference in time and still conduct coding interviews with FAANG EU? In this case I could at least count for GC and change my current employer. Maybe you have similar experience? Please share your thoughts on that. P.S.: I'm not sure that H1b is still an option for US companies, so I don't consider it at all right now Many thanks to all of you :)
Amazon’s recruiter told my colleague recently that they can’t process H1b anymore. They suggested him to apply at office in Canada I guess they just want to be 100% sure that you will work for them regardless of any lottery
I hear rumors that h1b get rejected from some countries

How’s the job market? It is finally heating up?
Why interview with FAANG EU while already in the US? H1b is very much an option for legit tech companies. The crackdown is on the scummy “consultancy” companies who abuse the system. If anything, this means there’s more visas available for real engineers.
