Stock trading as a Goldman Sachs employee

As a software engineer at goldman sachs, can you do stock trading using robinhood?

No. There is a 60 day holding period and you have to get all your trades approved before placing the trade. Used to work there and made a few thousands of dollars trading. Then got found out by compliance for breaching the 60 day holding period rule. They confiscated all my profits and issued me a warning and I had to take some compliance lesson. Goldman Sucks!

They suck because you didn't follow the rules? 💀

Thank you for the information. If we already have the stocks in robinhood, are we required to sell it when we join? I am planning to hold off for a while and requiring to sell them off right after I join would be a bummer.

30 days except for indices, pre-approval, federation/IBD generally isn't allowed to trade single names, have to transfer everything to Fidelity (which tbh hasn't been bad, it works okay).

can you trade other people's account instead of your own account?

I don’t think as a GS employee that too in software division you are allowed to touch stocks legally. You may get screwed and lose your job as well in a name of insider information unfair tradings practice

It's company policy. There are no laws against it
