I always hear fang offers that say downleveled. Has anyone been pleasantly surprised with an uplevel? Thanks

  • I know a senior swe at linkedin who got T5 at google. Typically senior at linkedin gets T4 at google.

    Got L5 Google SWE while I'm currently at a role which is L4 equivalent. I had to do extra system design interviews. That was nice. What's not so nice is getting lowballed when it comes to comp. Barely touching 300k and that's with signon spread over year and a half until first refresher

      No. I was interviewed for L5 based on yoe but they didn't get enough data points from the first sys design interview. I got forced to do more of those as they thought I shouldn't be an L4 (at least some exec did as he/she wouldn't approve my L4 offer)
