Had my final round for a SalesOps role a bit over a week ago. Felt like my round went really well. However, at the end of the fifth interviewer, I was suppose to have a debrief with the recruiter, but the interviewer told me they were on PTO and my round ended that Friday.

I followed up with the recruiter last Monday to see if we are still doing a debrief and I got no reply. I'd figured if I would get a response of some kind (makeup debrief/accepted/rejected) by mid-last week, but received no response. Being that I was also on PTO most of last week, I didn't have time to do any further follow ups.

I just got back from my PTO and I wrote another follow up to my recruiter, but got a PTO message again. Then out of the blue, I just checked the JD on Stripe's website and saw that it got pulled. I am now pondering if I got rejected (even though I haven't received any follow-up) and another candidate was given an offer and accepted late last week? Pulling the JD from the site makes me think they filled the role confidently.

I actually did connect with the hiring manager on LinkedIn (from their request) during my first round and I am tempted to message them for a follow up, but I don't want to break protocol. Does anything think it is a good idea to just find out my fate that way or just move on without some follow up confirmation from the recruiting team?

Thanks!

  • Ask the manager. I've had requests from candidates come through LI like that, and I have no problem with it. I like knowing what the candidate experience is like so I can go complain to recruiters.

Maybe they pulled the jd cause they have plenty of qualified candidates to make a decision on?

Once I became LI friends with the hiring manager, I noticed he promoted the role on his profile for the last four months with the same JD link that I was given. The role itself has some niche skill sets v. the typical Sales Ops roles and even the hiring manager knows that when we chatted during the first round. Therefore, the amount of qualified candidates that applied were not high.
