I just received an offer from Stripe for a non-tech role, and the base pay offer seemed ridiculous to me at an hourly rate that would amount to only $63,800 per year. Any idea why some roles might be hourly? I am currently in a salaried position with TC nearly $150,000. Hourly was not at all expected and I really thought Id be working with a offer competitive with my current role...
YOE? No -Tech roles in FB out of undergrad pay hours lot and get to $70K a year salary
4 YOE, and I have a master’s degree.
Tell HR to shove it. No need to think about it further
Computers tell me that I’m wrong all the time despite my sincere efforts to be correct. You don’t get to be blissfully yet aggressively wrong. Your lack of shame offends me! Here take some of my shame!
What non-tech role?
Underwriting Risk Analyst. Non tech but SQL needed. Sucks because I was excited about the role and company.
Pretty sure we pay our underwriters more.
Stripe offers generally are pretty low. Don’t know why a lot of people are so excited about that company.
Wow that was a royal waste of time. Perhaps they don’t value your role and related roles much.
Was this for a full-time or contract/interim???
Full time, normal role. I was pretty shocked. This feedback is helpful, I’m clearly not crazy haha
Ok, then don't take it
Yep. Too low. Doesn’t meet needs. Eff off.
I mean doesn’t stripe just sell gum?

Yeah, that’s absurd. That’s all I have to say.
