I am thinking about applying to stripe and Airbnb and was wondering if current employees think its still a good choice? Do you guys think the IPO will happen soon (< 1 year)? Do you think they will be overvalued at IPO and thus have a correction?
Airbnb solid, already making money
Airbnb announced their intention to IPO in 2020 today. Stripe has repeatedly said they have no plans to go public right now.
Nice just saw that too. I wonder if there will be a correction when they IPO though and what price they’ll IPO at
I've heard that Airbnb's last funding round overvalued future growth. And the growth has actually slowed down or plateaued, if that's true then there is a downside to joining now. This is speculation. We will only find out once they file SEC report. Also I've heard that new hires are joining at 2018 valuation, which valued the company at $38 billion instead of $31 billion 2016 round . Maybe someone from Airbnb can shed some light on this.

Biden’s new tax proposal is wild
I think Airbnb is solid as there is little regulation against rental arbitrage which obviously makes Airbnb a crap ton of money. I don’t know enough about stripe though
NY is the only regulatory hell they need to solve
