Probably this is a frequent poll in Blind(looks like every time Stripe will win the poll), but I really need some insights about the career. Thanks! Similar TC around 190k, though a lot of paper money are in Stripe's package. Well, for a new grad, I guess it is never wrong to go with google, but I actually prefer Stripe for larger scale projects and faster personal growth. My concern is that will a shining "google" on resume truly change a lot in the future career? Specifically, I think I will probably land in FAAANG in the future, and at that time will I get lower TC or level because there is no big names on my resume? Not sure how important it is when I am seeking for a new job in the future. Personally I think one's career path mainly depends on his hard working and what he actually did, instead of a company on his resume. However, during the job seeking I just feel too many things do not work like that. In short, is Stripe so promising that worth giving up Google as my first job?(is it possible for it to become one of the FAAANG?) Is a Google on the resume so helpful in the future that I cannot fill this gap even I improve myself a lot in Stripe? Thanks for your vote and suggestion!
It is easier to get to Google at lower level
how many yoe does a googler need to be l4?
Op this question is unclear. Do you mean how many years to get to L4 or how many years one stays in L4??
You are thinking way too much about it. Assuming you have not delivered stuff before as a full time, I am of the opinion that you learn from experience. What is the reason behind you saying that Stripe will give you larger scale projects and faster growth? I would say Google because Google has more product range to work upon than Stripe, which is basically in just one domain. You can always change teams if you don't like the work, but changing companies is a bigger challenge.
I just heard from several friends(entry level) in Google that they are doing something trivial.
Then I think what @Romantico has commented is the best answer. Did you have feedback from your friends at Stripe?

I'd go with G as a new grad unless you know what you're doing. Stay 2 years there, get out in good standing. After that, doors will open more easily for the rest of your career. Stripe is great, but G is a superior credential.
