Why is it so hard? I have valuable experience and have a BS as well. I’ve applied to over 20 positions and haven’t gotten a call from a single one. What could be the issue?

Also, this may not be universal, but in my experience executive assistants tended to be folks with at least 5ish years of experience as admin associates or senior admin associates. Not saying it’s a hard req, but most of the exec assistants I see are folks familiar with our org + culture, or experienced in running offices for execs.
I don’t work in this field/function, but the progression for this at one of my prior companies was
Admin assistant > associate > sr associate (sometimes) > exec assistant > chief of staff. With branches off for folks who got into management.
