Stuck in Team Matching at Google NYC
I have been in team matching process for over 2 months now with only 1 hiring manager talking to me which was in the 2nd week of this process. I'm not looking for any particular team/product. The recruiter is casting a wide net but still not much interest. Is this normal? Do I have any chance of getting matched? This is before it goes to HC.
I’m surprised recruiter is letting you wait for match. My recruiter tried for a week or two to find pre-HC match but when he saw headcount was low (back in April) he just put me into HC. Anyway, it’s harder to find a match pre-HC. Managers don’t want to waste time talking to you and holding the spot if you might end up not passing HC

Wow. Well, my recruiter emails me every week saying nothing so far
Consider moving to Seattle or Mountain View. Just for a while. You may enjoy it. I left NYC for Seattle to join Amazon, and moved back to NYC a few years later (not with Amazon). I’d do it again for Google if I had to. Of course NYC is great but you need to try different things in your life. Can’t stay in one place forever.

Same here. It's been 3 weeks since HC approved and there has been just one team match call where the manager went with someone else. Anyone here has any updates on their situation? L5 Location - NYC No offer yet.
Is our job market for tech finally softening? I skated through 2 economics classes in college. One of the few things I remember is... let me think about this, hmmm. Something like: when the supply of a thing is greater than the demand for that thing, the market value of that thing tends to fall. Something like that.

Yes, I guess I don't have the best rating for my onsite or it's something else. I don't know. Is there still any hope? Clutching at straws! lol
