Has it ever occurred to you that one day, you just made up your mind and quit the next day? What did you do after then? Did you have job line up?
In my mind I’ve done it about 25 times
Wow, didn't know the stock price could do that
No way. Bills/loans.
Disconnect yourself from the job, mentally that is. Focus on your next one, interviews, etc.
Good one. I did the same in my previous job. My focus everyday was interview preps, I managed to complete my tasks though.
I once left because of a rude manager. Told them won’t come tomorrow. I did not have a job lined up. Took some time and landed one. I don’t know what is a good method - but there is a breaking point and once someone crosses that point, no point in continuing.
You have to talk yourself down from the edge.
Use your vaca, PTO, leave first then reevaluate
Sure, once, had a new job in a week or two. But I was young, unencumbered, and job was junk anyhow. Wouldn't dream of it now.
Just did it. Was going to just try and shrug off a shitty manager and focus on interviewing. Finally decided that things were so bad I couldn’t take it anymore and gave notice. I did not have any formal offers, so it was risky, but it ended up working out. I was sweating for a few days until the written offers came in though.
Don’t. Look for another job and if things are so bad - see a doctor, take a certificate and go on leave.
Done it before when I get fed up with disrespectful manager. Didn't have another job secured.
