Situation: My employer said there would be crunch time for a month. After that the crunch time was extended twice. It’s been 3 months since I got a weekend , forget weekend I haven’t event sleep properly for a long time. Every evening my employer expects me to stay up all night and complete a set of tasks by morning.
Every morning, he expects me to complete a set of tasks by the noon. And similarly every noon a set of tasks to complete by evening.
No respect for personal time.
When I requested for some personal time, my performance was questioned. An indirect threat to fire me was hidden in this meeting. No long weekends are respected. Forget long weekend no weekends are respected. I have been working and delivering about 16 hours a day.
Should I sue my employer for these pathetic work conditions?

Quit. The correct answer is to pull an Office Space move, stop caring, and wait for them to fire you so at least you have unemployment while you look for a better job.

This one is great advice. I will have to fall back in savings as I am on a H1b visa in the USA.

Yeah, if you’re fired for performance, you can still get unemployment. May be changes a bit state by state that I’m unaware of though.

Get a doctors note, get disability. They can’t fire you right away, meantime you leetcode.

You have no basis for a lawsuit. You are employed at will.

Your employer doesn’t respect you and the company sounds like a third tier toilet sweatshop. Leetcode, interview elsewhere, and prosper.

This is accurate. It’s very uphill to make a case here no matter what people might think. The same at will that enables them is the same at will that enables you. answer is to just leave.

I am sorry for the delayed reply my fellow blinders. I was again stuck in the delivery loop and here I am. After the advices I recieved, I have decided to quit the toxic workplace as soon as possible. But can’t quit right away but interview and try to get out. I will risk delivering less and start saying no quoting personal reasons.
