Looking for feedback / reviews on Cherry Chase elementary in Sunnyvale. How diverse is the student population? Good Teachers? Does it have crazy parents? After school programs? Considering buying in that area but want to be sure It’ll be a good/healthy school environment for my kid.
Heard 94087 is best in Sunnyvale
I decided to homeschool since none of the Sunnyvale schools offer leetcoding curriculum before grade 6. Very concerning.
There are crazy parents there. It's the aspirational Cupertino. You think this new round of Indians wants to be the group that failed to win every Spelling Bee?
Yikes, this is what I’m afraid of. I know Sunnyvale has a large (primary?) Indian population but wasn’t sure if the public schools also reflected that or if there was more diversity there due to a lot of Indian parents I know preferring to send their kids to private school....
It's quite diverse. You can find parents who speak Hindi, Telegu, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi...and some speak Hinglish too.
It is relatively diverse. I'm in the district and based on what I see about 1/3 South Asian 1/3 East Asian 1/3 white. If you want more under represented minorities you can always go north to Vargas, they have rating 4 to 6 instead of 9 like Cherry Chase, home is a lot cheaper too. Same kind of teachers, curriculum, just different students and families and home price. I think they won't mind if you try to switch out of cherry chase into Vargas.
Depends what you want in diversity. There wont be many black kids
Is that school accepting new students? Any overcrowding issues?
Depends on the year, check with the school district website
Check out Nimitz. Great diversity there.
