“Looking for a change.. I have been using Lenovo from 2015 May for personal use.. I was at local best buy and saw burgundy color surface laptop 2 and fell in love with it With configured i7 512gb and 16gb it comes to 2199 seems bit too overpriced considered I can get MacBook Air with higher specs.. My fundamental use of laptop is browsing internet, YouTube, Netflix once in a while and some ms office work on word and excel. Which one do you guys recommend? Money is not the real factor but more like Apple or Microsoft?
You don't need an i7 for any of the things you're planning on doing with this laptop. I'm using a two year old i5 with 12gb RAM for that stuff plus visual studio and some light video editing and it's all snappy. (The final video render takes a while but that's a fire-and-forget job so the wait doesn't bother me.)
None 😂
Get chromebook and use google doc
Can actually use the surface for development? I don't think you can install Linux on the surface line but can I do Dev work on Windows?
Get Surface Laptop. Better battery life and touch display, Windows Hello, better ports...
MacBook Air really doesn’t have better specs either FWIW
A laptop is much more than specs. If you are an introvert who musta sits home and browses porn and YouTube then sure listen to the advise above. But if youbard someone who meets people for demos and proposals then do yourself a favor and get the MacBook air. Also if you need great ecosystem, where your laptop seamlessly works without iPhone and other internet services the again the MacOS is fantastic. Microsoft is a waste of time because their ecosystem sucks.
2k is a lot of money. What are specs of current machine ? For what u want almost any machine should be good enough. If you are advanced user of Excel and Word, you will be disappointed with Mac. Office sucks in Mac
Neither of them. Much higher specs than you actually need. Core i3 with 8 GB ddr ram and an ssd hd all for less than $500 should be more than enough for your uses.
Ty.. let’s assume money was not really not key factor but more on brand.. Apple or Microsoft.. will this change ur decision?
Dell and Lenovo make way better laptops these days, I'm buying XPS 9380 first moment it comes out over this pathetic Air refresh Apple pulled this year
