Healthcare is terrible in US. The apps are useless, providers don’t care and the billing dept is least helpful. I know someone who walked into a facility knowing that is in-network and yet the anesthesiologist, who knocked him out within minutes during the procedure, was not in-network. Later he got a $4000 bill from those two anesthesiologists since the insurance didn’t bill that single procedure as being in-network. Rest were however billed as in-network. How do you expect a patient who is being surrounded by 5 faces during a medical procedure to sit up and ask who is in-network and who isn’t? What about the RN who showed up to say “hello” to you and billed you $500, the janitor who pick a wrapper on the floor and billed you $300. It’s hell!
