Why hasn’t any news outlet like WSJ done an expose on how much surveillance JPMorgan Chase does on its employees? With return to office, managers have access to reports on activity like badge in/out, keys logged/vdi active time, who showed up to office who didn’t, what the patterns are etc. Feels like every movement is tracked, even our cellphones. We are treated like children who don’t want to do their homework and need constant monitoring. Our management doesn’t listen to any feedback on how the pandemic has impacted families with young children or elder care. In a world, that’s moving forward, JPMC is moving backwards. Management quotes Jamie and that he wants everyone back. Jamie is not your average employee trying to make family life work in the pandemic while doing a good job. I am so disappointed in this company, my management and the lack of trust in the employee the entire RTTO process shows. Anyone else feels this way? And is this the new norm for other organizations too? #jpmorganchase #jpmc
Leave. JPMC sucks
Yes I am definitely considering it, evaluating roles
Same thing for all Banks
Sounds terrible, be strong and find a new job
Sounds horrible But... They own you for 8 hours × 5 days a week. They're doing it because they can.
Own??
Have you ever held a non arm-chair office job? Burger flipper, packager, factory assembly line worker, store clerk? American work culture and law allows employers to get maximum production, service and efficiency from their employers within work hours. Surveillance is one method to audit against that expectation. We are lucky that our employers aren't pushing us to those limits. In OPs case, it sucks but it's not abnormal for employers to do that. My previous employer had similar set up. Many consulting firms have that set up.
About 80% of the media are part of the corporatist rent-seeking class. JPMC is one of their hallowed institutions. On top of that, their audience only seems to have an appetite for this type of story (put-upon workers) when the workers are blue-collar. But all is not lost! Look at how this info can be gleaned from Blind - no need to get some clumsy NYT piece on this.
Not even blue collar now. Look how the media is portraying truckers as nazi terrorists, when they are the definition of blue collar workers trying to bring about change. At this point if you believe the opposite of cnn, you're more likely to be correct.
Imagine about 1% of this at Meta. News Media would stop the Russian invasion and dedicate the next several weeks to Meta. In fact, I think even Putin would call it off for a few weeks so his state run media can part take in screwing Meta.
Take your salty shit elsewhere. Metas reputation is well earned. You got rich off fucking up democracy, and providing a platform for teenage bulling, vaccine misinformation, lunch mobs and many other sins. Your legacy will be remembered as one of the worsts inventions of all time.
Most of this is Russiagate nonsense I’m afraid.
What’s your TC and YoE?
Why would you stay and put up with this? Grow a spine and go better yourself. No one is going to do it for you. The wsj isn't going to write a few scathing articles and magically fix things.
that's unfortunate. i spend 20yrs there, just left last yr. i was very disappointed with their push to force everyone back into the office so soon. I always suspected that those pushing for that sat in the walled offices and were a bit disconnected. With a reference you can probably join 1 of the large tech companies....at least the pay and benefits are 10x better

Chances of meta clearing E5 with screwing up one coding one round and acing all other
News outlets don't care about JPMC. They only write articles about Meta.
