Switching Companies & Promotions

Working as an L4 at Amazon, but the TC cliff will come in a year or so. Money-wise, it makes sense to hop to a new job after being promoted to L5 and then to switch again after making senior. How do these leaps affect time-to-promotion? For example, if I’m 1 year away from senior and switch jobs, is that essentially a reset button? TC: 195k YOE: 1
