Ive done a Masters and have a good job in HW engg, but i see hardware engineers working 12-14 hr days to earn a lot lesser than sw engineers with a good work life balance. This has got me thinking if its worth switching more towards SW (or towards management?). Has anyone here done this sort of a move after getting an H1B? What would the implications on Visa (f1-H1b-?) be? What are my options in terms of career paths?

Can’t speak for Visa but I did switch from HW to SW a few years ago and so glad I did! Twice the pay for less work, so much more opportunities, def the best choice! Stick to development, Python is a great gp language and there will always be demand for C/C++
How did you make the switch?
