I am currently working at Deloitte. I’m planning to switch but due to some personal reasons, I haven’t been able to spend time on interview preparations. I know for sure I’ll be able to crack EY/PwC technical interviews without a problem, but I was confused if that’ll be a good decision. How much jump should I expect for EY/PwC? Hows the work culture as compared to Deloitte? Deloitte current TC: 86k, 7k bonus(2021), Consultant, - Full Stack Developer using Java and Vue JS. 5.5 Years of experience! #engineering #software #swe #consulting #pwc #ey #deloitte
Why, aren’t you deloitted right now?
jokes aside you should look outside of consulting firms, plenty of places don’t ask leetcode questions but with competitive tc
Care to name some?
Don’t waste your time in consulting. You can do sooo much better outside of consulting.
Thanks! My experience in consulting was great though! It was not core consulting but kinda tech consulting and I learned a lot. But yes, definitely the pay is not competitive and hence I want to move. Due to personal reasons I haven’t been able to keep up with leetcode which I’m sure will hurt me for FAANG interviews, hence PwC, EY kinda question.
I’m so confused. Why? Entry level operations folks in FAANG make more. Consulting does not deserve you and your skillset.
Agreed. Because I think I am not prepared for FAANG interviews. I barely get time after work to concentrate on Leetcode or brush up algorithms. I recently interviewed for Amazon where I reached till last rounds of interviews but got rejected. Hence PwC and EY which I know I can clear without much prep and atleast some bump in pay.
True but even a mid-level tech company would pay more. I had a friend do a bootcamp and got a job at Wayfair making $110k
How long have you been doing full stack engg?
5.5 YOE. Updated the post. Any advice?
Why would you stay at Big 4 to do software engg. Go to FANG or any other mobile/web/SaaS companies
