Got an interview opportunity, wondering what’s latest company future outlook? Is private entity or any others still looking to acquire this company?
No stocks until u r offered directors or higher position
Didn't know they were hiring in the midst of 8% RIFs
Only a few teams are able to hire, most have a hiring freeze from what I heard.
Hiring freeze in place for majority of teams. 8% layoff being achieved so far through attrition. As mentioned previously, stock has languished for years and activist investors are filling the board. My gut says another divestiture and/or private buyout is in the offing.
This likely isn’t the support group I need for words of hope - but I am feeling depressed over the loss of colleagues and departing teammates and what feels like the impending death/demise of the company. Any words of hope? We must have a possible future?
My gut says this ends in an acquisition. The following seem to point in that direction: 1) Poor financial results for many security companies means the sector is ripe for consolidation 2) Symantec has had anemic financial results for years. You know you aren’t doing great when the Street cheers 3% organic growth as a turnaround 3) CFO departure No actual “inside info” though, so the above is just my opinion to be clear.
Hope you didn't take the interview. Run the other way! Lots of people looking to leave. CEO got fired. Stock price tanked. Nothing good.
No news, but stock price hasn’t gone anywhere in years and the activist investors won’t sit on their investment forever. Based on that I would expect some sort of major strategic move in the coming months. But we’re all just guessing. Not even a hint of news internally.
