Blind friends, I need your help. I am preparing for a technical product manager role. One of my old friends who works at the same place told me they give an assignment for the interviews. I am good with product related assignments like estimation and creativity etc. One of the assignments could be system design. I am not very familiar with this concept. My friend mentioned that previously they asked questions like how would you system design for rotten tomatoes or quora. Can anyone please help?
In this order: 1- "Grokking the system design interview" to close some gap... 2- open source "system design primer" These will help you bootstrap and understand the concepts given you don't have time to 3- read " designing large scale web applications" book
Thank you.
Best wishes friend.

Unless you have an extensive technical background i doubt you will be able to learn this on the fly before the interview. You can look for system design questions in leetcode and see what I'm talking about. I've seen that tech pos are usually people that used to be in some form of a technical role like a developer at one point of their career.
