Doing Facebook E6 SWE interview. Recruiter gave me the choice of one of each or two of one. Can anyone give any insight on this? The systems design seems more focused on scaling the back end of a huge distributed system while product design is more on the API. This distinction isn't really clear to me because all the systems design approaches I've studied combine both of these anyway. I read the interview prep guide and the descriptions for both don't really differentiate much. If I were in an interview, I would focus on both of these areas regardless. I'm trying to decide what I should choose. Personally, I don't have experience with huge distributed systems on the scale of Facebook but I think I have some theory about it. Not the same thing of course. In a product design interview, are they not going to drill into the back end scaling requirements? Is it more software focused (OOP, data model, etc)?
