I just hit my 4-year mark with Amazon and I’m worried about hitting the cliff next year. What I don’t understand is how refreshers typically work and what the vesting schedule looks like. What should I expect during my annual review this year? Will I get additional shares and will they vest over 2-years (meaning 2022 and 2023)? L6 Program Manager with AWS.

Current breakdown:
TC: 245k
YOE: 7

Next Year (assuming no refreshers):
TC: 185k

You didn’t get any new grants the last two years? Did you get a least effective rating?

You should have received a PCS last year with new shares for 2022/2023. If you did not have any shares for those years, your base may already be at/above your target comp. This is Amazon telling you to leave. It is actually too late to get shares for 2022 other than off cycle grants/dive and save, so your best bet is interviewing elsewhere and getting out.
