I know some companies like google, Twitter, salesforce, etc will keep the high hiring bar for the small companies they acquired. Meaning if you want to go to the acquired company, the hiring process will be the same as in parent company. The TC will be the same as well. I am just wondering how the old employees’ TC is adjusted in the company acquired after the acquisition? For instance, the acquired company has a low hiring bar and the people are not smart and their TC is low. Will their TC become the same as the parent company after the acquisition?
Depends, I've been through that situation like 15 years ago with a company that acquired the startup I was working for and which was later acquired by your company lol. So basically they offered every employee a new contract during the merger, incl. a mapping of the levels to that larger company salary bands/levels (Business Objects at that time) with a significant raise for almost everybody. So we were treated as BO staff afterwards, no interviews required. But that might highly depend on the particular company and I left BO shortly after.
I know sap will not match because sap doesn’t pay high. Lol. Of course, sap won’t make the hiring process the same either.
Not true for audible.
High bar is a joke at Google. A candidate was referred by her former roommate, who was on the interview panel ...talk about conflict of interest.
Google does not maintain same bar for acquihires. Don't go assuming things
Yes, most of the times
