I am trying to understand where I stand relatively speaking in terms of total comp in a VLSI hardware engineering role. I have 4 YOE with 130k base + 20% bonus + 20k rsu per year. So TC $176k. How is this compared to other top companies like Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia, Broadcomm etc? Is it above or below average and if yes by how much ? Please give some guidance so I can understand where I stand and if I need to switch or negotiate a higher TC?
I would say average or above for 4 YOE, assuming you have a Masters degree. This is HW after all, can't compare it with SW jobs.
Thanks Spikiera. Others can u please comment too ? Where are the rich Apple , Nvidia guys- need ur take on this.

Bump. Guys would appreciate if you could comment here.
Nvidia will be able to match that but not much higher. You are in the correct range for 4 Yoe. Apple might be a good option
Thanks denvCoder9. Any idea how much RSUs apple gives for 4 YOE? I assume bonus and base would be in the same ballpark, but RSUs at Apple can make a huge difference ?
Assuming IC3 at Apple. Initial grant will be around 100-140k and refresher amount upto 30-50k per year split by 4

Below. Check levels.fyi
No levels.fyi doesnt have much (or any) for VlSI engineers.
monolith_ care to comment please from Nvidia ? Lets put together some numbers from various companies to get an idea
