I'm thinking about applying to Riot, but I'm having trouble finding much info on TC ranges. What's the normal range for 5 YOE?
Just apply and ask them when you get an interview. They need to tell you the range.

So much this. In the interview process they are obligated by law to tell you the ranges. Once you are on the inside they don’t need to so it’s very dependent on who your manager is. Some share them and some don’t.
If you're a female, careful of their very misogynistic work culture.
If you're a male, careful of our very misterogynistic work culture.
That's the attitude that got Riot in trouble in the first place
5 YOE probably gets you a mid level offer. Maybe senior if you do very well (very unusual). I don't have recent information but my estimate is that the range for mid currently is 170k-230k. The value to you will also vary depending on how you value the bonus target. As it was mentioned above the job bands/levels are being reworked. It's not finalized but there will likely be more levels than the current 3 or 4 levels, . That'll shake things up in terms of titles at least.
Until very recently I was a hiring manager at Riot. At 5 YOE we would almost always bar someone at the associate level. The hiring team would almost for sure veto a hire at the senior level for 5 YOE. I’m not aware of a single case where that happened.
@GDNy18 I'm aware of one engineer with 5 YOE hired as senior but it required Seavers' signoff and it was controversial. I agree that mid or even associate is more common at five years. Though I think that most engineers should not accept an associate offer at Riot if they have that much experience.
These kinds of politics are what makes Seaver’s org so toxic imo
Yup agreed with the folks above Likely mid-level position around 200k TC unless you got something super special going on skill-wise.
We are in the process of changing the levels so this is likely subject to change soon.
