How do you deal with an interviewer who keeps asking to skip high-level components design and focus on one part.
It breaks my thought process and i might miss parts that are building blocks for the next part. If the system is something that I'm really familiar with, it's easy to focus on any part, but if I'm actually trying to figure things out, I need time to think through it. Talking about high-level components give me that opportunity. I understand that the interviewer is looking for specific area, but if it's the first time I see/think about that design, I won't be able to dive deep in a random component right away.
