Dropbox interview
@ Dropboxers or any folks who recently got offered a position at Dropbox, what’s the bar to get offer for Sde ic2? Do all interviews need to go perfect? Or is there wiggle room to have one interview be ok and the rest being pretty good? And how many days after interview did you get offer?

Also heard that Dropbox doesn't go with typical leetcode questions. Anyone care to throw some light on the pattern

I think it is well know dropbox has high bar given they don't have much headcount, many people got perfect in all round and still rejected
How long did they take to get back to you with an offer?
I’ve never seen all yeses get rejected.
It’s the same criteria for all levels: you need at least a Strong Yes, no Strong No/No. strong yes is basically someone would vouch for you at HC to offset potential Weak No. there’s no “got perfect in all around and still rejected”. They either only finish 1 part of a coding round, did NOT get a strong yes, or flat out being a jerk to interviewer. I’ve failed Staff engs being a jerk before. For IC2 it’s mostly coding.
Thanks for your response. if someone gets a weak no but a strong yes then does that person get the offer? Also can you vouch for the person above’s statement that people can get strong yes across the board and still get rejected due to unavailable headcount?
Strong yes can offset weak no. There’s no such thing as unavailable headcount right now afaik. You might be placed in a different team. If you ace everything you will get an offer. We call it opportunistic hire.
I definitely did poorly on one interview and got an offer (obviously working there as you can see). I know I killed it in two of my other interviews though.

Just got an IC2 offer, not necessary Perfect of course. But u do need to perform pretty well in several followups.

Got a IC3 offer couple of months back and joining soon. Coding is not from LC. First question is usually simple where you should code within 15-20min and then they will ask you for multithreaded version or how will you scale this solution for 10000000000 customers n all. Very very nice interviewers and super positive experience. They are genuinely interested to know how well you can think and come up with solutions. I had 1 system design, 2 coding, 1 behavioral and 1 dive deep where they poke around one of your big project. All my interviews went really well and i got the results of interview next day. I had G FB and MSFT offers so was able to push them to come back with strong numbers, and got that within 3 days. Overall great people and awesome compensation (210/500/50) and from what I have heard great wlb too. Good luck.
