Talked with FB recently on opportunity check, and it's a mess, and I don't want to join them now - every team tries to manage their own data infra/telemetry, so no sinergy and huge waste of resources.

All companies have problems, but you decide which are really problems for you, and which aren't. My current TC is 500for L6, FB offer 710, but I expect Amazon to match.

That contradicts what I’m seeing on the ground though? There are are centralized data platforms used across the company for logging, analytics and dashboards. You can easily see what any team is doing.

The data itself is the responsibility of the team, but most will organize in the most sensible way and roll up to the org if there is synergy.

Reality labs is harder and slower. The developer ergonomics aren’t the best so managements expect longer turnaround time to get things done. Also product and designers need more time to think about product because it’s non traditional. After a while, you might figure out how to be efficient and I think that’s when you get good wlb.
Basically a growth org that moves slow due to how the new the domain is.

Yes and no, we have infra teams but most of it is probably spun off some other core infra team. I’m not too familiar with distributed systems side but I won’t be surprised if we will have a dedicated team to help with Horizon scaling.

My view is that you should work on something you’re interested in and believe in. Then you will naturally work hard and your environment doesn’t really matter. High growth generally means scope to me, that there’s enough scope for you to own if you want to challenge yourself. Any young org with new markets to win would fit your need
