Salesforce offer evaluation

Oct 1, 2021 14 Comments

Hi all,

I interviewed with Salesforce and will receive an offer for product/business analyst.

100k with no stocks and bonus. 10% gratuity bonus based on performance.

Location: Seattle

I have another offer for 110k at a Startup with 20% variable bonus with no stocks. No clarity on green card.

Salesforce recruiter was very rude and said don't waste time for final round with VP if you are expecting more pay than this. If you're selected don't come back asking for more.

I like Salesforce for brand and green card but the start up is treating me really nice and is highly interested in having me. Work wise both are pretty much the same.

Current pay 90k including bonus in bay area.
YOE-2.5 yr

Can you all please guide me.

Update: I am scheduled for an interview with a VP at Salesforce. Any Salesforce peeps can you please what should I expect ?

How was the hiring manager? If the recruiter is rude by hiring manager is normal then I’d go with them to get the brand name on the resume.

    • I met someone equivalent to hiring manager and that person and the team was nice. But the recruiter was very rude and that actually left me to write this post so that I can get real perspective. Salesforce is a good brand with gc process. I hung up the phone with the recruiter saying I don't want to waste my time either

      Good. Know your value.

  • Just keep going with the interview/process at Salesforce until you get an offer then make a decision. This is all if you can hold off from accepting the position at the start up. SF Recruiter is probably stressed out because of the crazy job market.

Salesforce is fantastic to have on a resume, so I would give some value to that.

  • Seems low even for entry level business analyst in Seattle (accounting for a 10% cost of living difference with SF Bay). Don’t judge a company by its recruiters, they are contractual workers, they jump from company to company. If you really did well in the interview, you can request to speak to the manager and use your leverage with the other offer, it shouldn’t be hard for them to match your startup offer. Salesforce treats people with respect, though there are isolated cases of bad apples ruining the reputation for the company as a whole in that regard (as is the case anywhere else).

    • I am meeting the VP next week and then I would get the offer. Do you think I can request to speak with the hiring manager again after this round once I get the offer?
