Google Base: 170 bonus: 15% Stock: 465k sign-on: 25k tc: 312k Facebook Base: 198k bonus: 15% stock: 290k sign-on: 50k tc: 300k Went with Google. Wanted to go there all along. Disappointed with Facebook as they werent willing to go higher. Dont feel they value TPM much.
What's your YOE? Were you an L6 or L5 TPM at Amazon?
Also, congratulations on the 2 great offers.
15 yoe, L6 TPM at Amazon
What’s your Amazon TC? With that level and YOE, I’d have expected more than 300k after factoring the stock growth these past several years.
My Amazon TC is around 270k, Bay Area. Don’t laugh, I did a poor job negotiating when joining amazon.
Thanks for sharing. Agree with TwVs13 on it. Did you negotiate?
Yeah, negotiated pretty hard. But surprisingly, Facebook didn’t budge much, and the recruiter was playing stalling tactics all along. Google came out with a strong initial offer, and was willing to give more stock when I asked for more.
I meant, for Google, if you’re willing to lower the base and sign on, you can get a lot more stock. In my opinion, stock is the most important factor, as your TC can jump up if the market goes up
JakePeavy - How did you negotiate more RSU's? I have a competing offer from Facebook, but google hasnt budged a bit.
Op, good offer. I got around the same back in 2017. With refreshers and stock growth, I'm around 380k now.
well i mean google is the better company lol
Congratulations
OP - was your recruiter at G easy to deal with during negotiations? Did they expect you to counter when they gave you the initial offer? It sounds like the FB recruiter wasn't too pleasant to deal with.
Recruiters always expect you to negotiate, so you HAVE to negotiate! If you don’t know what to say, just stall by saying you’ll need some time to think it over. You might feel nervous by not accepting, but trust me, they’re equally or more anxious for you to accept.
FB recruiter was playing the stalling tactic with me, only when I said “thank you for your time I’m moving on”, that’s when they upped their offer.
Not bad 👏👏
