TPM at Cisco

Wondering how is a Technical Program Manager(TPM) at Cisco considered in other companies? Is it like shooting myself in the foot if I continue in Cisco as TPM? I have been here for more than a year. If I interview at other companies, is Cisco experience considered a black mark and hard to get jobs at other companies?

OMG! TPM is trashed the most in our team. TPM is overrated, at least in Cisco.

Don't go to Cisco. A lot of people coming from Cisco are some of the most political people I've met - and not in a good way.

I was under the same impression before joining Cisco. But that impression has changed. May be depends on the BU. I would want jump ship just for TC, not for the work culture.

Cisco has lost its touch as a innovator all it does is heavy marketing !! The products are getting 90% discount prices now a days !! And customers are not buying them !! Look at the core switch business numbers !! All the other experiments seem to be a failure !

Yeah, what are you talking about dude lol collab and many core portfolio technologies are up YoY and QoQ. Do you even listen to the earnings calls or read market share information? Seems not. There’s a reason we’re still leading in many areas and why our share prices are going up. Stop spreading false information.

“Core switch”. Jesus you people... I agree with the rest though. Cisco is doomed.

I was actually asking more from the perspective of jumping ship. Is a Cisco TPM considered valuable or am I wasting my time here?

Cisco ( -.- ) Jun 20, 2018

Null value. NPPM or EPM has better value and exposure at least within Cisco.

Don’t waste your time being a TPM . Chances of getting fired are more too
