TSE Compensation
My current TC is 320k. A Google recruiter reached out to me for a technical solutions engineering role. Will they match my TC?
Would be interesting to know the TC of TSEs here on blind.
It’s sort of a tech support role so TC is less that SWEs. I doubt they’ll match your current TC unless you are very senior.

Just from research and the necessity of TSE. Are you an SE right now? I just went through the interview loop for TSE, don’t personally recommend it.
Not an SE, no. I am currently in a similar “premium” support role. Why wouldn’t you recommend it?
Oh... hmm in that case, maybe you’ll like it. I’m an SE and it’s just weird to be asked “Given a customer received a 403 response from using your web service, how would you debug the issue?”

TSE role is a customer support centric role. Your job is to chase the issues with development, other teams for your GCP clientele. The best you may be adding value as a SWE in that org would be to add automation to smoothover the queue. I doubt google would swing $320k TC for such a role. Source: I’ve Interviewed for TSE Manager role and took a pass.
