Started my career in investment banking after an undergrad in liberal arts, did an MBA at one of the top schools, realized there’s much more than consulting and finance. Landed an entry level PM spot at one of the big tech companies in SF and worked my way up. Did a boot camp in between jobs to learn something about tech and now I’m managing PMs 5 years after MBA and 12 years after undergrad.
The MBA definitely opens doors for me and the alumni network was invaluable in my first endeavor into tech.
It needs to be from a good school. Top 100 is fine. Just don’t go pick one up from cal state east bay.
