Recruiter told me that I passed all interviews and will get an offer for a product manager role. Can anyone comment on the culture of the product teams at Niantic? Especially on the non-game engineering areas? I’m excited because it sounds like they’re doing interesting things, but the other posts here make me weary. #niantic #offer #product #gaming
AR is about to boom in the next few years. Good time to join.
We have pretty cool, competent pms. I wouldn’t worry too much about the negative comments here. The culture is pretty good.
As an avid consumer of Niantic’s flagship game, I will say they are in great need of good Product Managers! 😛
I'm pretty happy with the lvl 50 launch 😁
TC? They like FB PMs?
They lost my respect after they weren’t able to stop people from using fake geolocations to catch all the good Pokémon’s. How hard can it be to detect that a person now is in US, in the next second in Europe and then suddenly in China?
Congrats! Niantic makes history
All of the PMs I've worked with are great people. The non-game teams have a bit of a more relaxed time compared to game teams. The only division I would be wary of is the AR team. There's been a lot of turnover in leadership recently and that doesn't bode well.
I've just been screened by a recruiter for a PM role too. I personally believe AR is still in its infancy stages and Niantic is definitely a player to be reckoned with. Recruiter mentioned they're hiring 300+ roles for 2021 and have around 30 pm's in the company currently. OP, would you mind sharing your interview experience and possibly TC here or privately?
I’ve got this billion dollar idea. You ready? Its called genshin impact, but with Pokémon. You’re welcome
Big AR startups are in a gloomy ambience, demand is not there
how’s magic leap holding up?
I thought magic leap shut down?
