I've seen a lot of mixed feedback for salaries of data analysts who have strong skill sets in both tools. Can anyone help out and provide the rational for said salary? For example, Company X pay range is $145-190k because it invests heavily in data, is a consultant company so it can, or whatever...

I would guess that no company in their right mind is paying six figures for someone just because they have advanced tableau or alteryx knowledge. That's like saying investment bankers get hired for their excel skills. Those are "baby" technical tools, and it's likely that companies look for specific subject matter experience or additional technical coding skills, so tableau knowledge is more of a nice-to-have or a given
That number was a random number, so don't fret on that. I am currently right at the six figure mark doing that work, but not that high... What are the big kid toys? I'm new (~2 years self taught) to the analytics/BI world and really have become passionate with data.
My apologies then. I would say that being able to develop custom etl (SQL, Python, Scala, etc) to bring data in from different applications and automate as much manual work as possible from cleaning to presentation will make someone very marketable. If you can couple that with strong industry knowledge and potentially some statistical analysis, you've pretty much made yourself a data Swiss Army knife. Some people might argue that having such a broad set of data skills is spreading yourself too thin, but I think eventually these skills will become very standard in most data analysts. And why not aim to build a broad perspective and be a CAO one day?
Both are tools we use and I would expect low to mid 6 figures acceptable depending on location. But also agree they should not be the only tools in the belt. Also I'd think it's more about how effective you use them and the value of the impact you make to the org that should drive the comp.
