12 YOE. Is it low? how hard shoud I be looking
Low. MBA, Bay Area, YOE 5 year, it's pretty normal to expect 220-270k.
This is too low. But when I had 12 yoe and before joined fang, my TC was 130k only.
$150k+ base. RSU is random between companies. When I was recruiting for Sr. Engineers in LA, that was the average ask.
How many YOE for Sr Engg that you were recruiting for
5+ years We ended up hiring a bunch of engineers for $130k base and $40k equity. They all had 5-6 years of experience. So for you, $150k-$200k base is in the realm of possibilities. I have 6 YoE and I had no issues asking for between $150k-$180k when I was interviewing in LA. It helped having a counter offer in SF for $200k base and $320k total comp. Lol
My husband has a CS bachelors he is at TC 150k. I have a EE bachelors and my TC is 160k. We both live in Austin, TX... I’d say that’s on the low side. We are both at 3 YOE
It is not low with 3 yoe at TX
She means mines low
Yeah, I mean there’s never any harm in putting some resumes out there and seeing what market value is for your skill set. I’m in technical sales and my comp is actually on the low end... so I’m interviewing at places (big and small companies) to see what my options are. Happy hunting!
What is your role? Not sure how anyone can judge this without knowing the role ...
Note to self, get MBA and MS in CS

Are you in LA? Probably at least $200k although I know that job market isn't the greatest. In Bay Area should be at least $250-300k.
Yeah. Need to get to market rate. Been here too long
Is LA/SoCal 20-30% lower than SF? Dang.
