Joined a Teams shop from a Slack shop and the difference is night and day. Teams is slow af. The interface sucks. Integrations also suck, with the exception of the Outlook calendar. People love to use group DMs over channels because "channels are too slow", but group DMs aren't discoverable and don't support threading. Even reactions suck in Teams. My workplace QoL is significantly degraded by a shitty chat app. Seriously missing Slack with G suite integrations and channel-based workflows for issues, PRs, CI/CD, etc. Does Teams really suck or is my company just not using it correctly? If it's really this bad I might actually use this as a tiebreaker in future job decisions, all else being equal #officelife #workplace #teams #slack
Its really sucks and Microsoft offers free with office 365 so company use it . There is no comparison with slack. Slack is quality app and everyone who moved to Team feel backwards and terrible move.
I’ve been using teams for interviewing as the interviewee and you’re right. Slow af. For one interview, they were trying to send me prompts in the chat but the chat button wasn’t there for the beginning of the interview but it appeared by the end of the interview. They had to email me the prompts.
Slack is miles ahead of Teams in both functionality and interface. Interfaces/UX for work productivity tools should be designed to ease stress, not induce it, and i've found Teams does the latter
I haven’t seen teams but you haven’t seen chime
if anyone messages me on chime i tell them to reach me on slack
Do you know how to send an automated message saying the same
Never used slack. Does slack offer calling functionality now? Friends at Amazon say they were using a combination of Slack+chime a while back since slack didn’t have calling.
Slack has the functionality (they have huddles too which are great), but by default our enterprise version of Slack links to Chime with calls
yes, it has calls, my old team would use Slack for ad hoc 1:1 calls and Google Meet for scheduled stuff Their recently added huddle feature seems to mimic Discord with persistent voice rooms you can join any time
They both suck. I know I'll get shit for this, but I honestly prefer workplace.
I haven’t used workplace but if it’s anything like Facebook.com I’m good
I mean or you can just shove everything into chat 🙄
*takes notes*
My unbiased two cents: Teams sucks.
Thanks for your Love ❤️ for Slack. Words like these keep us motivated 😂
Slack over Teams anyday!
