I really want to move to either Amazon or MS (Any big pure tech company) to get out of my current telecom SDE role. Are there any teams here that have a comparatively lower bar? 3 YOE in US and 1.5 abroad TC $115k in DFW
Amazon as a whole is the easiest to get into. Technical bar is super low (I got leetcode mediums). But you do need to pass the interpersonal questions (Leadership). Alexa or Amazon.com are easier than AWS
I did try for the Alexa and LEX AWS team last year. Did average but the got screwed by the leadership principals. Itβs really hard to explain people what you did when they donβt have an idea about what u work on π
That's literally the whole interview. You just need to be technically average, but you get fucked if you cant show leadership principles. Passing the Amazon technical bar is a joke tbh
Amazon retail has a slightly lower bar than AWS
Depends on your luck to with the interviewer
Yeah I know. I usually donβt do that well on system design questions as work doesnβt involve working in those areas. Some of my colleagues and friends when they interviewed at MS and other companies were never asked any system design question. Where as I was grilled by the all interviewers for hours π PS: Grokking just gets you the basic doesnβt delve into much.
Personally feel that MS only has a slightly higher bar than Amazon but MS pay much less for industrial hires
Hmm π€. I thought The other way was true
Amazon bar is much higher than MSFT
Commercial Experience Group (CXG) for M365
Hahaha will screenshot of this to people I know over there. Btw, folks I know there a lot better than most here in OXO
You can try consumer payment services org at Amazon. It has the lowest hiring bar. And the best thing about the org is that it has a low promo bar too. You can get promoted if you just take interviews and no real work.
You can give a shot for core services engineering team at Microsoft.
How's the hiring bar at People Tech at Amazon?
Are people here kidding? Amazon (aws) is very hard. I got difficult system design, bar raiser and lc medium and shitty lp. I donβt think a single round went well. In addition they have 1 year cool down period which msft does not have.
