Welcome. What % of crypto portfolio is BTC, out of curiosity?

Facebook DefNotZuck Aug 29, 2019

ETH is my largest position at over 50% of portfolio, BTC makes up maybe 25% and then 25% to half a dozen or so alt coins.

Only worth it if you bought in a historical dip. I wouldn't buy right now.

Bridgewater Associates pUDJ50 Aug 30, 2019

Only Hedera Hashgraph

Nomura WuSw06 Aug 30, 2019

Of course. If you don't own Bitcoins you have no retirement money.

MassMutual NkOS62 Aug 30, 2019

Nope. And I would never buy crypto, unless I felt like really ripping someone off. There's less risky ways of ripping people off, thank you very much. I don't want to risk being the fool turning the lights off on that scam. Work in fintech.

Taylor Farms azerty_ Aug 30, 2019

And why do you think it’s a scam?

MassMutual NkOS62 Aug 30, 2019

Unregulated, easily manipulated, large investors holding millions, biggest of all: It's all intrinsic value. Absolutely no tangible value. And before some brilliant mind comes along and says "but cash is all based on nothing" Define cash. What is currency? It's ownership of a share of government debt at the face value of the currency. Period. What is bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency? What is the absolute definition of it? Because it is absolutely not currency by definition of currency. That is why bitcoin and cryptocurrency is a scam.

Worked in tech, servicing finance now .. no.. you are pouring $$ in someone else running their rig to keep the network alive. Sounds a lot like tulips. Plus the IRS started the fbar wichhunt on crypto and with alt coins keeping track of what traded for what will be fun. Have you filed yet?

Cryptocurrency is nothing but hype. Blockchain has some good use cases but cryptocurrency is not one of them.

Right. And maybe Fidelity, ICE, and JPM enjoy wasting their time by building crypto capabilities and service offerings.

Chase coolturtle Sep 1, 2019

Everything they are building is backed by dollars. It's just the US dollar with extra steps.

Chase thuusmondo Sep 1, 2019

I buy ETH

Amen, brother.
