Tech Industry

I got laid off but saw it coming. I was working in the Cruise Industry. If I can give anyone advice : if your company is affected by the virus or the economy downfall. Start looking into companies who are on the rise. For example Zoom, Amazon, ... any company that is busy during this lockdown and online services. (This is my opinion) Also work on your LinkedIn and if you're a programmer keep coding. If anybody has any other advice please let me know. I'm currently heavily applying through Indeed and LinkedIn. I feel other job sites have a lot of recruiters. My experience has been bad with recruiters sometimes they are offshore and hard to understand. Other times recruiters dont keep their appointments or only interested to see if you have other interviews already. I advice screen your recruiter ask if they know the lingo because they will be representing you. My Stack is React.js, Html, Css, JQuery, Ajax, Axios, .Net Core 3.1 & 2.2, MVC, Razor Page View with React using Bable and WebPack, Git, npm, Microsoft SQL and Rest API (I need to add Cloud Services maybe Azure) Best Wishes to everyone and hope my advice helps. If you have other advice please share. #layoffs #developer #jobsearch

I've only ever worked with in-house recruiters so I suggest you apply for companies that have them. I haven't had anyone ghosted me yet. You should also try applying to companies that already have a remote workforce. Github comes to mind. There are sites like weworkremotely.com. Use interviewing.io to do mock interviews. You can get a phone interview with a bunch of companies if you do well on that site. I have personally gotten an interview with SpaceX and a few other companies through it.
