What are the exit opportunities for a tech auditor? Need to get out of audit as soon as possible. I really don’t want to get stuck here. Also I’d like to start a family soon so I’m trying to raise my TC significantly (don’t we all) Location: Dallas TC: 75k YOE: 2
LC
Don’t think tech auditors has that kind of background
What’s LC?
Leetcode
If it helps, I audit the investment bank/markets technology (program trading audits, etc)
Have you thought about getting a coach to help you figure out what you may like? They really do help walk along with you.
Can you recommend a coach? I might need one.
BTW do you happen to be a CISA? If so you could look into going into security which pays extremely well.
I thought getting the CISA will keep me in audit so I’ve tried postponing it
It is super easy. I was coming from finance and accounting and had no problems. I wish I kept up my CE though.
You don’t think it would keep me in audit longer?
Only mention it on your CV for relevant roles. Audit at JPM asks you to repay the cost of certifications if you leave within a year, but I think it is worth paying back the firm instead of sticking around in audit
Try to get into cybersecurity, or tech GRC. Might be a step from what you do but you have the skills already. Best of luck
CISSP or CISM, and get into cybersec
I came from KPMG in IT Audit and now I’m doing data analytics but my TC went from 60->70 I had experience in college with databases and I did a few python colleges and did a GitHub project Now after 8 months of experience I’m getting opportunities with TC from 90-110k I’m currently in the logistics industry But I want to be in: E-commerce (amazon, grubhub ) Payment transactions (stripe/PayPal) Media (Netflix ) Right now the future opportunities I have are in supply chain and e-commerce Not sure where your experience lie but tech audit is a pigeon career and I felt the same as you needing to get out of it I would say try doing Tech audit at like amazon and then try and transfer if you still stand tech audit Or apply to smaller companies to just show that you got the skills in whatever you want to do and then apply to big companies after half a year
