Technical PM offer at Tableau

What's a good offer for a TPM at Tableau? Looks like (glassdoor) they offer low base salary. How about RSUs? Is 120k + 2000 RSUs a decent offer for 10 years experience?

How much the RSU valued? Are you happy with that number? If so is good enough. There are always higher and lower offers around

At the current stock price..140k..over 4 years..

Run your interviews with amazon and microsoft if you are ein seattle. Google, Fb and expedia too if you have time. Then you will really know your value. The fact you worked for ten years can be a very good or very bad thing depending on what you accomplished in this time and how well you sell it.

Understood. So for someone who has done decent in 10 years..what should the numbers be? 😁

120K base minimum. 140K in RSUs. Bonus should be at least 10% of base

For 10 years, 150+, 300+, 15%

Does Tableau offer sign on bonus?

Tableau Restless Aug 4, 2017

No

Tableau jsh8277 Aug 5, 2017

yes

Tableau lookleft Aug 4, 2017

Tableau also doesn't offer different bonus amounts for individuals. we make the same percentage

ChemPoint JammyG OP Aug 4, 2017

10%? Can you help me assess the offer?

Tableau lookleft Aug 5, 2017

I'm not familiar with how tableau values PMs, technical or not. I was just commenting that you can't look at the bonus since we all get the same bonus, on the dev side. off the cuff, for be senior it seems a tad low. are you changing roles? sometimes people value your experience in the role a lot and if you have no experience in the role you might get no years credit

Depends on org, tableau ops that's great pay, dev seems low, sales no idea I hear it's low but not ops low.

ChemPoint JammyG OP Aug 7, 2017

this is dev..what would be a good pay keeping that in mind?

Tableau pipe2null Aug 7, 2017

Seems slightly low on salary but hard to say, when the stock was going up up up the rsu awards got small, then when it tanked it went back up but not to pre ipo levels. They try to balance it as a total comp but tend to be very optimistic on the RSU value.

Tableau pipe2null Aug 7, 2017

For example when I started the total comp was about 125k but the big shops were offering me about 145k but if the stock hit 100 a share I'd be even with everyone else and at 150 I'd be well ahead. Well we never hit 150 but I'm still here. I know I'm not making what I could elsewhere but to me it's still worth it to be here. The people are great and so is the product

ChemPoint JammyG OP Aug 7, 2017

How long have you been at Tableau? mind sharing your current level/ designation and total comp?

ChemPoint JammyG OP Aug 7, 2017

and thanks for sharing the details?
