Interesting to see mixed response for interview of same role (TPM)? Is it a choice?

TPM interviews always has coding rounds if it is in the SRE teams. GCP maybe not... Most of the coding is Leetcode easy ... Source me, went through 2 interviews over last 8 years. Second time they moved forward with offer but we couldn't agree on level so I rejected

Thank you for the clarification. Besides the coding interview , is the system design round easier than regular SWE ? Also , are the other rounds management ( people management ) it project management focused ?

There's two project management rounds and then depending on level L6 and below there will be a coding round, communication/conflict resolution and system design. I interviewed at SRE but they didn't ask NALSD (non abstract large systems design) but just regular system design. The big difference is that you need also do the capacity planning, predict nber of servers, network bandwidth, rough costs,.etc. The problem itself wasn't too hard, for e.g., how will serve 1 trillion key value pairs. To estimate the non abstract part is bit tougher. If it is non SRE it is much simpler, you just need to come up with the design. If it is L7 and above it is 2 project mgmt, 2 leadership and 1 system design for non SRE roles. If SRE, then there is a coding round and instead of SD it is NALSD. Hope that helps, good luck.

My interview day in Dublin for the TPM position in SRE didn't include a coding interview. There were 2 technical interviews: - technical judgment - non-abstract system design

How did the no abstract system design round go ?
