I have multiple interviews in progress all in different areas. 2 interviews are at/near completion. Considering telling one company I have an offer already. This isn't about getting higher TC but more about telling them I may be turning them away once we get to potential offer stage given how long the interview process has been. Thoughts on this approach?
Don’t lie, it’s about TC. You’re trying to rub their face in it. It’s also presumption on your part to assume you’ll get another offer.
Just be honest about your timeline. That’s all. You don’t need to lie about anything.

I don’t understand your dilemma. Recruiters are used to working with multiple offers. Be up front that you’re interviewing and may need to give the other guys an answer soon. This gives them a opportunity to compete for you. BUT- don’t use it to break the bank (as a negotiating tool) too much. Respect that they can’t fairly go too far out of a band just to land you. They’ll resent you and will work your ass into the ground to get their money’s worth if you use the offer(s) for more $$. Don’t be a jerk. Seriously, your future manager will lose respect and think you’re a greedy shite.
Thanks. To reiterate, its not about TC as I'm not looking to have them fight it out by raising the offer. Both are genuinely interesting. But I don't want to keep the others waiting. I'll tell them my timeline and try to get an answer before withdrawing if needed. Besides these are polar opposite industries. If both were in same location and same industry, would likely be different.
Be honest about your timeline, but also I wouldn’t bring it up unless they ask you OR if you’re interested and curious if they will speed the process up
I would tell the recruiter I have other offers because I would like them to speed up the process, really not about TC. Otherwise we waste both our time. That’s what I did. :)
I always mention other offers. Recruiters need to know that you’re a desirable candidate and not some ostracized unwanted outcast loser.
Don’t do it. Talk to them as if it’s been your dream since childhood to work for their company.
