Thank you message on Linkedin to Interviewers

I had an on-site last Friday with a FAANG company and I received an email with names of people I would interview with prior to the interview. I looked them up on Linkedin and was wondering if it will be weird if I sent them a thank you message on Linkedin?

Send your thank you message to the recruiter and he/she will forward to the interviewers. Include your email address so they can reply

This. I suggest to send to the interviewers only after passing the whole thing and getting an offer. Then its all in good faith and cant be interpreted in any direction... meanwhile thanking the recruiter and asking to thank them is an appropriate way.

Or find out their address and pay them a visit at home.

Thank you emails are old school as hell and don’t bring anything to the table imo. But I guess you have nothing to lose cold messaging recruiters on LinkedIn.

Not recruiters. Thank you to interviewers who interviewed me

Didn’t you thank them already just at end of interview?

I would find that weird and a social over reach, just say thanks to the recruiter.

This is weird. It comes across as passive aggressive.

How is this aggressive at all? Weird sure...

The interviewer will think that this is a way to influence the decision. For example, the candidate is unlikely to thank if he doesn't get an offer.

It's a bad idea because it actually distracts them, they interview tens or hundreds of people... That's a good idea but unfortunately not good in practice, IMHO. I wouldn't want to receive any messages, except from people we hired, and even from them, I don't want messages outside of work, there are meetings for any discussions and that's enough interaction already (even too much usually). Just my 2 cents.

They probably won't accept because when you're rejected you'd be likely to ask them why. Also it seems like you're trying to influence their decision. Don't do it. You have no reason to thank them anyway. They're paid a lot to be in that room with you

He values their time and probably feedback he got during the interview, I understand him. But yes, they wouldn't want to be contacted by rejected candidates no matter how good or nice they were.

And it's sad I know, you mean good, probably you're very friendly and personable. But unfortunate reality is that people are too busy and it makes them less friendly in all related to work. Work eats up too much of our time and we don't want more distractions than necessary, usually.

I’d definitely do it via LinkedIn as opposed to email. Use their company’s product imo
